Ida Veltri

Ida Veltri, 82, of Weirton, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 in the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born October 27, 1931 in Bel Monte Calabria, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Carmen and Teresa Porco Magnone. She was also preceded in death by her husband Bonaventura "Benny" Veltri, sisters Frances Suriano and Maria Pianese and brothers Domenic, Matteo and William Magnone. Mrs. Veltri was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. She always loved attending mass, cooking for her family and tending to her garden. Ida is survived by her son Nunzio Veltri and his wife Beth of Weirton. Visitation will be held Sunday 4-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Larry Dorsch officiating. Entombment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
