Irene J. Mellott

Irene J. Mellott, 80, of Weirton died Saturday June 1, 2013, at the Weirton Medical Center. Born on June 22, 1932, in Weirton, WV, Irene was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ann Trebus Filak. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Filak and four sisters, Cecelia "Jessie" Haber, Katherine Aftanas, Helen Shimko, and Sophie Auten Ferrari. Irene was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church. Surviving include her two sons, Howard Lee Mellott, Jr. (Debbie) and Joseph (Mary) Mellott all of Weirton, WV; her two daughters, Linda Kuczykowski (John) of Steubenville, OH and Laurinda Good (Dale) of Weirton, WV; a brother, Edward Filak of Youngstown, OH; ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 2- 6 PM Tuesday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM, Wednesday at the Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church 200 Preston Avenue Weirton.
