Irene Z. Kamarados, 90, of Weirton, died Sunday, December 15, 2002, at the Brightwood Nursing Home, in Follansbee, WV. Irene was born on May 5, 1912, in Chios Greece, the daughter of the late John and Argeta Fetokakis Zofos. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Kamarados, whom she married on March 6, 1932 and died on July 22, 1984; her son, Michael on October 27, 1968; her brother, Andreas Zofos, and her sister, Marika Paleoudis. She was a homemaker, a member of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Ladies Philoptochos Society, and Aghia Markella Ladies Society. Irene is survived by her two sons, Alex J. and his wife Marie of Steubenville, OH, and Stanley J. and his wife Lillian of Weirton, WV; her daughter, Mrs. Costas (Stella) Flatsousis of Weirton, WV; seven grandchildren, Irene Harrington of San Antonio, TX, John A. Kamarados of Weirton, WV, Eurydice Kamarados of Steubenville, OH, Michael J. Kamarados, II of Canton, OH, Nikolas A. Kamarados of Follansbee, WV, Georgenne M. Davidson of Bridgeville, PA, and John S. Kamarados of Mansfield, OH; and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Tuesday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM Wednesday at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton. V. Rev. Terry J. Linos, Rev. Fr. Steve Mazaris, and Rev. Fr. Dean Dimon will preside. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery in Steubenville, OH Trisagion Services will be held Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church 3528 West Street Weirton, WV 26062.
