jack parnos

Jack Parnos, a lifelong resident of Weirton, WV, passed away on June 4, 2024, at the age of 83.

Jack was born on October 28, 1940, in Weirton, where he spent his entire life. He graduated from Weir High School and bravely served his country during the Vietnam War with the US Army, where he was tasked with guarding an ammunition dump. Despite his service, Jack rarely spoke of his time in the military, a testament to his private and stoic nature.

After his service, Jack enjoyed a long career with Signode Corporation, where he worked until his retirement. On October 28, 1995, Jack married the love of his life, June Graham Montelione, and from that day forward, he was a devoted and caring husband, always there for her.

Jack was known for his quiet demeanor, but those who knew him well remember the wonderful stories he would share once he started talking. He was a very private person, but his caring and wonderful nature left a lasting impact on those around him.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Nick Parnos and Winifred Utt Jackson Parnos, his brother, Nick Parnos, his stepson, Joseph Montelione, his half-brothers, James and John R. Jackson, and his half-sisters, Maxine Jackson, Vivian Frazier, Elaine Burns, and Eleanor McDonald.

He will be deeply missed and remembered with love by all who knew him. His legacy of quiet strength, caring nature, and cherished stories will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, including his beloved wife, June Margaret (Graham) Montelione Parnos, his stepson, David D. (Lacey) Montelione, and his niece and nephew, Rusty and Pebbles Fish, who were like his own children. Jack will also be fondly remembered by his step-grandchildren, David K. (Autumn) Montelione, Richard Montelione, Joseph Montelione, Michelle (Robert) Glover, and Danielle Montelione-Taylor, as well as his step great-grandchildren, Ivan Taylor, Nina and Maria Montelione, Max, Merrick, Benton and Robbie Glover.

Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Tuesday at Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Weirton.
