Jackie Earl Rice, 84, of Weirton, WV went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.
He was born on February 23, 1938, in Wetzel County to Virgil and Goldie Mary Williams Rice.
On October 6, 1965, he married Ruby Showalter. Shortly after their marriage they move to Weirton and raised their family. In their 57 years of marriage, they were blessed with a son, two daughters, four grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
Jackie provided for his family by working as a pipefitter for the City of Weirton’s water department. Jack retired after 33 1/2 years of dedicated and loyal service.
Jack cherished the times he spent with his family. He loved to sit on his porch and enjoy the outdoors. He was a great storyteller, always starting out with “To make a long story short”, but his stories were never short.
Jack nourished his faith in his Lord Jesus Christ for over fifty years at the Follansbee Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert, Roger, Mickey and Oscar Rice, and his sisters, Betty Rice Teagarden, Carrie Rice Ellison, and Virgie Rice Kuhns.
He will be remembered with love his wife, Ruby; his son, Brian Earl (Kelly) Rice; his daughters, Catherine Jean Rice Walsh and Lori Ann Rice Kimball; his brothers, Gerald (Georgie), Paul and Jerry Rice; his sisters, Susie Rice Gonzalez and Mary Gail Rice Watson; his grandchildren, Amanda (Joe) Gebroski, Veronica Walsh (Ben Baines), Brent Kimball, Colleen Walsh; and a great granddaughter, Natalie Gebroski.
Visitation will be 1-5 PM Friday and on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
Rev. Larry Barkley will preside.
Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton, WV
