James B. Teaff, 96, passed away peacefully at Valley Hospice in Trinity, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Steubenville, OH. Jim was born on April 17, 1930, to the late James B. and Evelyn (Schrawger) Teaff.
He graduated from Steubenville High School in the class of 1949. After high school, he served 4 years in the Navy during the Korean War. Upon returning to Steubenville, he began working at Weirton Steel, where he retired from the purchasing department.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wives, Jean D. (Owens) Teaff, 1979, and Betty J. (Andrews) Teaff, 1994, and his sister Marcie Caproni.
Jim is survived by his sons David (Karen) of Rockwall, TX. Rob (Lori) of Weirton, WV, and Scott (Natalie) of Follansbee, WV. Six grandchildren, Adam Teaff, Jamie (Jesse) Keeder, Abby (Scott) Tomlin, Erin (Christopher) Minor, Zachary (Claire) Teaff, and Noah (Hannah) Teaff. Two great-grandchildren, Rudy and Grey Keeder, and his longtime companion, Edith Orkis.
He was a lifelong fan of Steubenville Big Red, OSU Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, and the Indians.
Per his request, cremation and inurnment are being entrusted to Greco-Hertnick. There will be no services. Burial will be private.
A special thank you to the staff at Valley Hospice and Grace Cottage for the loving care provided prior to and in his final days.
