A proud graduate of Morgantown High School, Class of 1954, James continued his studies at West Virginia University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1959. James was a devoted man of faith, actively participating in the community of Memorial Baptist Church. His love for the outdoors led him to spend cherished moments as an avid deer hunter and fisherman, exploring locally in Morgantown, Bethany, and the beautiful landscapes of Mineral County, West Virginia. James and Marlene enjoyed spending winters in Florida, making treasured memories together in the warmth of the sunshine state.
Throughout his life, James embraced camaraderie, sharing in activities that brought him joy and lasting friendships. He was a member of the Weirton 3 Score Club, the Emeritus Club of WVU, and the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club. Known for his enthusiasm for sports, James was a loyal fan of WVU and Pittsburgh Steelers football. He also enjoyed bowling and participating in leagues at Weirton Steel and Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by sisters Doris, Mary Jo, Charlotte, and Barbara.
