James Clarke, 77, of Weirton, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Born on July 29, 1947, in Steubenville, he was the beloved son of Wilbur Dale and Maybeth Henry Clarke.
James devoted 30 years of his life as a skilled mechanic at Weirton Steel Corporation, where he was known for his hard work and dedication.
On December 4, 1976, he married his soulmate, Pam Tennant, and they shared an adventurous and joyful life. One of their most cherished memories was finding themselves amid New Cumberland’s Christmas parade on their wedding day—a fitting start for a couple known for bringing warmth and laughter wherever they went.
A proud fan of Pittsburgh sports teams and a spirited supporter of the WVU Mountaineers, James was a man of many passions. He loved family gatherings and spending time outdoors, especially camping at Tappan and Austin lakes, where he would enjoy fishing and sharing his trademark humor.
Known for his unforgettable one-liners and light-hearted jokes, James brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. His knack for well-timed humor made him a true character and a friend to many.
James was a member of the Weirton First Church of the Nazarene, where he served as an usher and contributed to the church community with a generous heart.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his daughter Nikki and sister Bridgett.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Pam, son Erik, and daughters Bobbi Lynn and Deana, sisters Faith (George) Nichols and Melody Clarke.
Friends can visit with James’s family on Friday, November 15, from 2pm until the time of his 3 pm memorial service at the Weirton First Church of the Nazarene, 475 Colliers Way, Weirton, WV.,
James will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory, 3219 Main Street, Weirton.

Did Jim and Melody grow up on Elmer Ave? I remember a Jim Clark. If so it’s sad to hear of his passing. It’s been many years since I lost touch with them. Condolences to his family
