James “Edward” Jenkins, of Weirton, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, after a five-month battle with cancer. He was 68.
Edward was born on June 26, 1954, in Weirton, WV to James Holley and Stella Dean Dillon Jenkins.

He was a proud gun owner and a member of the NRA. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking, reading, driving his 82 Corvette, flying model airplanes, and playing guitar. He loved science, nature, geology, history, and doing research.
Most of all Edward will be remembered as intelligent, generous, kind, and a great provider for his family.

My most heartfelt condolences to the Jenkins family. My father and I have many memories with Edward and family. He once took my dad, me, and his sons on a camping trip, my first, that was very memorable and I have continued that tradition to this day always recalling my first adventure. Last year I hiked Otter Creek which was a favorite of his and my dads, it was great to have literally walked in their path. Edward was a amazing person with a great personality who people just gravitated toward. He will be sorely missed.
I’ll track down some pictures and send them to Jared and Jeremiah
In memory of my best friend Edward Jenkins. A true friend and great person. I will never forget you and the times we shared together.
The Jenkins family. I am so sorry for your great loss. Edward was my best long time friend, though he had many who would call him their “best friend”. We did so many things together, even living together for almost a year. we camped, backpacked, traveled the East coast and enjoyed every aspect of life. Edward was like a professor, eager to learn and shear with others what he had learned. In any situation, he never never meet a stranger, making everyone feel comfortable with his kindness. I love you like a brother. I will think of you everyday and will miss you everyday.
That would be awesome Zach
Our condolences to you and your family Jeremiah
