james white, jr.
James White Jr., 79, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at his home. Born May 7, 1939 in Weirton, he was the son of the late James and Flora Sebben White Sr. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Betty Jane (Don) Gianni and Deanna (Marino) Silvestri. Jimmy graduated from West Virginia University and served in the United States Army Reserves. He retired as the CEO of James White Construction Company in Weirton, and the President of Chaparral Realty. Very active in the community, Jim was Past President of Williams Country Club Board of Directors as well as the Past President of OVCEC, and the Ohio Valley Construction Employment Council. He also served on the Weirton Medical Board of Trustees, Wesbanco Board, Weirton AAA Board and the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce Board He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3734, and a former member of Weirton Rotary and Weirton Junior Achievement. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 50 years Pauline Shernisky White; his son, James A. (Ilaria) White of New York City, NY and his granddaughter Chiara White. Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton. Additional visitation will be Saturday 9 AM until 10 AM at Saint Paul’s Church, Weirton A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Rev. Father Babu Joseph Elamturuthil will officiate. Everyone please meet at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Paul;s School Weirton, WV or to the Tony Teramana CancerCenter, Steubenville OH. Jimmy’s family would like to thank the nursing staff of Trinity Medical Center and Valley Hospice for all the love care and concern they had for Jimmy. We kids on Brookline Drive were little younger than you when you were dating Jim and we all had fun joking and playing around with him and yourself you were good sports.
