Janice Marie Godinez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God, peacefully passed away on June 21, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Born on June 9, 1958, in Topeka, Kansas, Janice was the daughter of Billy and Mildred Engle Crow and grew up surrounded by the love of her four siblings.

Janice’s journey through life was marked by a deep commitment to service and faith. She graduated with pride from Valley Center High School in 1976 before embarking on a courageous path of service to her country. Joining the United States Army WAC, Janice served honorably and with distinction, traveling the world and embodying her dedication as a WAC Chaplain, offering solace and support to her comrades.

Education was a cornerstone of Janice’s pursuits, culminating in a master’s degree in social work from Memphis State University. Her career as a case worker for the state of Tennessee reflected her boundless compassion and unwavering dedication to improving the lives of others.

Janice was a pillar of strength and faith within her community, finding profound fulfillment as a devoted member of the Tree of Life Church of God in East Liverpool, Ohio.

Above all, Janice found immense joy in her family, especially her cherished grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will forever inspire all who were privileged to know her.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her loving husband Darryl Godinez whom she married on June 18, 1983, and who sadly passed on January 8, 2021, and sister Joanne Crow.

Left to cherish Janice’s memory with love and admiration are his daughters Jennifer (Jeremy) Boysel of Valley Center, Kansas, and Deborah (Chris) Zajac of Weirton, grandchildren Danielle, Maddie, Abby, Katie Boysel, and Angel Dawn Zajac, as well as her brother Robert (Marsha) Crow of Texas, and sisters Joyce (Darryl) of Scottsdale, AZ, and Julie (Dennis) Blair of Rossford, OH.

A celebration of Janice’s life will be held on Saturday, July 6, at 1 pm at the Tree of Life Church of God, 926 West 8th Street, East Liverpool, OH., 43920.
