Jeanne Ann Baker, 75, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Weirton Medical Center. She was born on August 19, 1948, in Weirton, WV, the youngest of four children born to Fred and Florence Allen Campbell.
Jeanne graduated in 1966 from Weir High School. At the age of 16, she met the love of her life, Larry D. Baker, at the Follansbee Roller Rink. They exchanged vows on July 22, 1967, and embarked on a beautiful journey together. Larry worked at Weirton Steel, while Jeanne dedicated 29 years to Comcast, retiring from her role in Customer Service.
Their marriage was blessed with three children and ten grandchildren. Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found joy in creating blankets for her grandchildren and even future great-grandchildren. Her talents extended to crocheting and cross stitch, showcasing her love through handmade creations. She was also known for her delicious meals. Her breakfast pancakes and her dinner meatloaf were among the favorites of her family and church family.
Jeanne’s vibrant personality was evident in her constant happiness, love for sharing jokes, and captivating storytelling. Many who knew her believed she should have written a book to immortalize her wonderful tales. Her faith was an integral part of her life, as she was an active member of the Paris Nazarene Church, serving on the Church Board for four terms.
Preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Florence Allen Campbell, and her brothers Aaron “Ron” Campbell and Kenneth Campbell, Jeanne leaves behind a legacy of love. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry D. Baker; her sons Dirk and Siham Baker, Rand Marcus and Sabrina Baker; her daughter, Lea Baker and Lorrie; her grandchildren, Gabriel, Israfel, Ezeekiel, Angelina, Alaina, Ethaniel, Rylie, and Remington Baker, Joshua Kleiner, and Kenan Pullings; and her brother, Fred Campbell.
Her family will receive friends and family on Friday from 4-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, and from 10 AM until 11 AM on Saturday at the Paris Nazarene Church. A funeral service will take place at 11 AM on Saturday at the church.
Pastor Joe Ryan will preside.
She will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.

Sending my deepest condolences & prayers for your family. May God’s grace surround you all
Sincere condolences to the family.
How sad to read of Jeanne’s passing. She was always such a lovely, funny and gracious person to know. We were in Greenbrier Homemakers group and our paths crossed in so many ways over the years including neighborhoods, friends and children. My deepest sympathy on your loss.
Jeanne and I are/were friends for 66 years. We lived in the same neighborhood and had a wonderful childhood together in the 50’s and 60’s. In our teen years it was always Patti, Jeanne, Phyllis and myself. When our children got older we would get together as often as we could and took a few trips together and always had the best of times. Jeanne was a storyteller and always had us laughing. I nicknamed her Jolly Jeanne. Precious memories.
I love her dearly and will miss her greatly. I take comfort in the fact that she is not suffering and we will be together again someday. My condolences to Larry, children and grandchildren.
I am so very sorry to hear of Jeanne’s passing. I worked with her at Comcast for several years and will always remember her stories and her laughter. She was one of the sweetest people I ever met. She was very proud of her family, which she spoke of often. She also had a great love for our lord, which was evident in hearing about all the church activities she participated in. I think she made a meatloaf for every church funeral there was. She had the best sense of humor and was such a caring lady. Many prayers for her family and may she rest in peace.
