Joan Hilda Kyler of Weirton died Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was 92. Joan was born in Cumberland, MD, on October 24, 1928, the middle child of seven children born to Vincent A. and Clara Regina Alkire Diggs. Joan grew up up in Maryland, where she met Veryl H. Kyler. They married on August 4, 1951, and shortly after moved to Weirton, WV. Veryl worked for the power company before getting hired at Weirton Steel. In their 33 years of marriage, they were blessed with two children and a family that eventually grew to five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Veryl passed away in June of 1984. Joan took care of the home, and outside the home, she worked as a nurses' aide at the Weirton Geriatric Center for four years. After her husband passed away, Joan enjoyed traveling. She traveled all over the United States. In her free- time, she was talented in knitting and sewing. She shared her gifts of quilts and baby blankets with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joan nourished her faith at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She was also a member of Three Score Seniors. In addition to her parents and her husband, Joan was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Linda Kyler; her granddaughter, Christina Winters; her twin great- grandsons, Brandon and Christopher Boring; her brothers, Paul, James, and Vincent Diggs; and her sisters, Margaret Snyder and Lillian Fuller. Joan will be remembered with love by her daughter, Regina (Richard) Sirback; her sister, Carol (Frank Kozol) Rossille; her grandchildren, Brent (Michelle) Kyler, Roy Boring, III, Mary Boring, and Tamara (Luke) Myers; great-grandchildren, Brianna and Natalia Kyler, Dillon and Seth Winters, Holly (Robert Dameron). Kylie (Patrick Lane), Trey, Nathan, and Noah Boring, Evan and Chloe Myers; great -great-grandchildren, Ariana, Jack, Patrick, Geneiva, and Joseph. Visitation will be Monday 5 PM until 7 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Fr. Tony Thurston will preside.
