Joan Patricia "Patty" Billcheck, 75, of Weirton, passed away very peacefully with her children at her side on Friday, January 13, 2012 in the Life Line Hospital, Wintersville, OH. Born January 12, 1937 in Weirton, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Joseph and Martha Dworzecki Sharrow. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Lori Ann Vaughn Blaschak on April 16, 1980. Mrs. Billcheck was a homemaker who worked at the former Weirton General Hospital, Marland Heights Convenient Store and Weirton Studio. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America. For years, she sold Avon products to her neighbors and friends. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate Baseball fan and loved the animated cartoon character Betty Boop. Patty is survived by her sons David A. Vaughn of Bonaire, Georgia and Thomas J. Billcheck of Weirton; daughter Martha J. Welsh and her husband Paul of Salineville, OH; brother Richard S. Sharrow and his wife Mary Jane of Weirton; sister Deborah A. Kostka and her husband Gary of Weirton; grandchildren Andy Billcheck, Paul Michael Welsh, Jr., Stacey Jenkins, Marley Jenkins and her cat Snowy. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and family friends. Visitation will be held Monday from 12-3 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be celebrated at 3PM. The Reverend Father Larry Dorsch will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to American Stroke Association, Great Rivers Affiliate, P. O. Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693.
