
John Anthony Brancazio
December 28, 1920 ~ March 8, 2015
John Anthony Brancazio, 94, of, Paris, PA, died Sunday March 8, 2015 at the Weirton Medical Center.
Born on December 28, 1920, in Gallo, Italy, Giovanni arrived in the United States of America on March 28, 1923. He was a son of the late Pasquale and Angela DiLullo Brancazio.
John was also preceded in death by his four brothers, Anthony, Joseph, Cosmo, and Dr. Dominic Brancazio; and his sister, Domenica "Minnie" Mozzone.
John served his country during World War II, with the United States Navy as a radio man primarily in the Pacific theater. He retired from National Steel, Weirton Steel Division, in 1982 after 42 years of service. He worked in the open hearth as a ladle man and a shop steward and was the operator of the first 4 strand continuous caster producing steel in the US.
A staunch Democrat, John enjoyed watching CNN. He shared a lot of his talents with friends and family. He was a very talented woodworker and bricklayer. In his free time he enjoyed spending time in his garden. He was known to grow just about anything.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, whom he married on February 15, 1947, Helen Spilecki Brancazio; his son, Phillip and Jalene Brancazio of Dana Point, CA; his two daughters, Victoria and David Glass of Apollo, PA, and Angela Brancazio of Harrison City, PA; his two sisters, Lena and Tony Paolo and Mary Rollison all of Weirton, WV; and six grandchildren, Richard, Isabelle, and Louisa Glass, Joseph (Kelley) Rogers, Danielle (Michael) Spencer, and Janna Brancazio; any numerous nieces and nephews.
In fulfillment of John's wishes, a private family celebration of his life will be held.
