John D. "Jack" Hickey, 66, of Weirton died Saturday March 17, 2012, at the Allegheny Hospital, in Pittsburgh, PA, following a brief illness. Born on October 4, 1945, in Steubenville, OH, Jack was a son of the late Cyril and Eleanor Grygo Hickey. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Rita Hickey Mosti and Mary Eleanor "Sis" Shevelow. Jack worked in the Weirton Steel Tin Mill, eventually retiring as the former owner of Heights Entertainment, in Weirton. Known as a "Man's Man", Jack's favorite past time was boating on the Ohio River, with family and friends. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, and the Weirton Marina Club. He is survived by his wife, Charlyn Mumley Hickey, his son, Sean D. and Suzanne Hickey of Sarasota, FL; his two granddaughters, Erin and Shannon Hickey of Sarasota, FL; his two brothers, Tom Hickey of Steubenville, OH, and Rodger and Patty Hickey of Toronto, OH; several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday. Rev. Fr. Dean Borgmeyer will preside.   10. Char & Sean, my condolences. We lost a great man in Jack. Saturday’s marina dinner was held in Jack’s memory and afterwards at the bonfire overlooking the river I gave a toast to Jack having a loving heart and kind soul knowing he was in Heaven half an hour before the devil knew he was dead.

They always referred to him as “Jack National Video.” He was always so kind to them.
