John Edward “Punk” Cunningham, 72, of Weirton passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022.

John was born on August 8, 1948, at his family’s home in Weirton, WV. He was one of four children born to Thomas and Dorothy Virginia Goodnite Cunningham.

One of his favorite cars to race was his 1969 Ford Mustang Mach One. He enjoyed this hobby for over fifty years with his two friends Larry and Gomer.

He was a member of the NHRA.

    • Thank you so much Brian. We are so very thankful that Dad had a good friend in you. You and the other staff took great care of him and made him feel like he was at home and not in a nursing facility. From the bottom of our hearts we want to say thank you so much for being such an amazing person and caring friend that made his last few years happy ones, especially when we couldn’t be there. Much love.
