John James Bado Jr.

John James Bado, Jr., passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Sienna Woods in Wintersville at the age of 69.

Born on January 11, 1957, in Follansbee, West Virginia, he was a son of John and Mary Frantz Bado, Sr.

A graduate of Buckeye Local High School in 1975, John went on to attain his associate’s degree in civil and industrial engineering from Jefferson Technical College in 1977. He dedicated over 32 years to Weirton Steel, where his commitment and strong work ethic earned him the admiration of his colleagues.

John was a passionate outdoorsman, finding joy in hunting and fishing throughout the tri-state area. His love for nature was matched only by his devotion to his family. A member of the Mingo Sportsman Club, he cherished the camaraderie of fellow sportsmen.

A man of faith, John practiced the Nazarene religion, drawing strength and guidance from his beliefs. In his quieter moments, he found solace in the melodies of old country music, with the timeless tunes of Johnny Cash often echoing in his home. Songs like “Folsom Prison Blues” and “I Walk the Line” were his favorites, underscoring his love for the simpler things in life.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother Charles Bado and sisters Rosalie and Charlene Bado.

John is survived by the devoted love of his life, Lore Bado, and his beloved daughter, Kiley, who lovingly referred to him as a great dad, and his sister, Darlene Bado.

John’s request for cremation will be honored.

He will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. 26062.
