John L. "Larry" Savage
June 15, 1950 ~ December 18, 2020
John L. "Larry" Savage, Jr., 70, of Weirton, WV, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020, from complications of COVID 19.
John Lawrence was born on June 15, 1950, the firstborn of five children born to John and Mary (Timcho) Savage, Sr.
Larry “Sav," as he was known to his family and friends, graduated from Mingo High School and furthered his education at Kent State University.
On April 26, 1980, he married Deborah Donnelly, and in their 40 years of marriage, they were blessed with two children and four grandchildren.
Larry worked in the B.O.P. of Weirton Steel, and Debbie cared for their home. Together they ran “Weir Country” craft business for 13 years. Following retirement, he was the co-owner of the West Street Café.
When Larry was not working, he and Debbie’s lives centered around family activities. They cherished the times camping and boating with the family. Tappan Lake and the Ohio River were their favorite spots. Sav also enjoyed the open road on his Harley Davidson. He was also a die hard Steeler fan and looked forward to fantasy football with the guys every year. Nothing gave him more joy than loving his 4 beautiful grandbabies. They will always love and cherish their memories with Pappy!
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Robert ”Bobby” Savage and his best friend, Danny Olexia.
He will be remembered with love by his wife Debbie; his son, Jordan (Stephanie) Savage; his daughter, Jennifer (Matthew) Schmitt; the loves of his life, his beloved grandchildren, Peyton and Penelope Schmitt and Noah and Blake Savage; and his sisters, Carolyn (Frank) Carducci, Mary Catherine Dylewski Savage, Karen (Ron) Lloyd and many wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the future when hugs and stories can be shared.

Debbie, Jordan, Jennifer AND Carolyn…I am so sorry for your loss. I met Sav several years at a wine tasting event; he had me laughing a long time and that’s the memory I will keep with me. May God watch over you all and keep his memory alive for/with the grandkids.
My dear sweet friend Carolyn. I am so very sorry for your loss. You spoke so often of how kind your brother Sav was and how he never had an unkind word to say about anyone. My heart breaks for you because I know how much you loved him. From what I know of him from you we have lost a pure kind soul. May he have a joyful eternity and until you again meet him I pray for peace on your heart. Love you, Kathy
