john anderson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John R. Anderson, a beloved son, father, brother, grandson, and friend, who left us far too soon at the age of 38. John’s life was tragically cut short unexpectedly, on June 30, 2023, leaving behind a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Born on November 27, 1984, in Weirton, John was the cherished child of John Michael Anderson and Darla Jo Tingler Frederick. As he grew up, it became apparent that John had a passion for creating things with his hands. He pursued this passion and eventually became a skilled self-employed carpenter and welder, demonstrating his dedication and hard work in every project he undertook.

Beyond his craft, John was a talented artist, gifted with the ability to bring his imagination to life on paper. His drawings were a testament to his creativity and his unique way of expressing his thoughts and emotions through art. His love for art spilled over to a love for cutting hair. His family and friends received many free haircuts.

Sports were also a significant part of John’s life, and he was an avid supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He cheered for his team with unrivaled enthusiasm, bonding with friends and family over countless game days.

As much as he loved his hobbies and interests, John’s most cherished role in life was that of a father. He leaves behind four beautiful children: Ezra Jenkins, Caleb Anderson, Mariah Anderson, and Reagan Pernell.

In addition to being a devoted son, grandson and father, John was a caring brother. He leaves behind a brother, Shawn Michael Anderson, and a sister, Desiree Renee Anderson. Their bond as siblings was strong and enduring, and they shared many precious memories together.

John R. Anderson’s departure from this world has left an indelible mark on the lives of all those who knew him, including his parents, John M. (Tiffany) Anderson and Darla Jo Frederick, his stepmother, Tiffany Shawn Anderson; his grandfather, James Baker, his children, Ezra, Caleb, Mariah, and Reagan and his siblings, Shawn and Desiree

His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he touched throughout his life.

A visitation will be held at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home on Friday from 3-7 PM where a funeral service will be conducted at 7 PM.

Pastor Curt Moser will preside

His cremation will follow.
