Joseph Cuprik, 80, of Weirton died Thursday November 26, 2009, at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born on October 3, 1929, in Cokeburg, PA, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Shervinsky Cuprik. Joe retired as a Lieutenant from the Weirton Police Department, were he served for 33 years. After his retirement from the force, Joe joined the sales associates at the Weirton Wal Mart, where he worked in the sporting goods for the past 11 years. He served his country during the Korean War with the United States Navy. He was a member of the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, and the American Legion Post 10. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Betty Granato Cuprik, whom he married on April 24, 1954; his son, David Joseph Cuprik, and his wife Debbie; his brother, Richard Cuprik, and his wife, Linda all of Weirton; two sisters, Ann Chek of Weirton, and Karen Hardey of Johnstown, PA; his nieces and nephews. Private visitations will be held at the convenience of his family. Friends and relatives are invited to join his family at the funeral Liturgy with Mass 10 AM Tuesday at the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton.   1. Joe was a wonderful person and I’m happy I got to meet him when I worked at Walmart. He will be sadly missed by all, but is no longer suffering. Your family is in our prayers.
