Joseph Dolentin
January 27, 1946 ~ June 21, 2021
Joseph Dolentin, 75, of Weirton WV, a strong, loving family man, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 21, 2021.
Joe was born on January 27, 1946, to Genevieve Regin Dolentin.
He was a graduate of the Weir High School class of 1964 and continued his education at Allegheny Technical institute.
On May 2, 1970, he married his love Betty Matheos, and in their 51 years of marriage, they were blessed with a daughter and two grandsons.
Joe spent his career at Weirton steel for over 30 yrs where he was an electrician /motor inspector in the 1016 detinning plant.
Joe was a member of St Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus D.P. Murphy Council 3734, and the 4th-Degree Assembly 1194, where he was a past faithful navigator. Joe was also a member of the Weirton Steel 25 yr Club.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents Joseph & Helen Regin, his mother, Genevieve Regin Dolentin, and son in law Brian O'Neill.
Everything Joe did, he did for his family.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Betty Matheos Dolentin, his “precious little girl” Amy O’Neill fiancé Jamie Austin (daughters Alena & Kayelee Austin)
; and last but not least, his pride and joy, his grandsons, Tyler Brian O'Neill & Matthew Joseph O'Neill.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Greco -Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 229 California Ave, Weirton.
Interment will follow at St Paul's Cemetery, Weirton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Joseph the Worker Church.
Special thanks to the 2nd-floor staff of the Weirton Geriatric Center for their love and compassion for Joe as a visitor and ultimately a resident.
