Joseph Dominic Littleton Sr, 56, of Weirton, West Virginia died on Sunday, Oct 16, 2022, at Weirton Medical Center after a long, hard battle with cancer. He was born on July 29, 1966. The son of the late Orva Lynn and Ida Mae Littleton. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Littleton Sr.
Joe was a proud graduate of Weirton Madonna High School Class of 1984 known by many as “Ton.”. He continued his education at Franciscan University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. Joe was formerly an employee of Sal Chemical. Joe will be remembered for his involvement with coaching teams in the tri-state area including Weirton Madonna Junior Dons and youth baseball teams. He was affectionately known by many as the “Colonel.”
Joe enjoyed golfing, blasting music (especially Elvis), relaxing on the beach, coaching his children, and tossing back the occasional Chico Fiesta margarita. He was an avid sports fan cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers, West Virginia Mountaineers, and New York Yankees. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Joe loved his children with all his heart and was very proud of all their accomplishments.
He will be remembered for his strength, resilience, his nice head of hair, and his personality that lit up any room he walked into. Most of all, Joe will be remembered for the love he had for his family. Joe most recently resided at the Weirton Geriatric Center, where he was known as the “King” of the Sunnybrook third floor.

We are so sorry to hear the news about his passing. We remember him fondly
I’m sadden to hear of the passing of an old neighborhood friend. Joey was always quick witted and you could count on smiling and laughing when around him. I have wonderful memories of playing “Pee Gee” baseball in the back yard for hours and hours and playing “knee football” until we got holes in our sweatpants. I’m honored to have called him my friend. Rest easy Joe Prayers to the Littleton family during this difficult time.
So sad to hear this news…Ton always made me smile, (more so laugh) with his larger than life personality and awesome sense of humor…He will be missed by all who knew him…
Deepest Sympathy to the family. I have several happy memories of Joe while my sons where at St Paul’s school.
Love and Prayers

My deepest sympathy to Joe’s family and friends. It has been 38 years since we walked the halls of Madonna together but I will always remember Joe as great guy, large in both stature and personality with an infectious smile and fun to be around. I pray that he now shares in the peace of eternal life. Until we meet again, peace my friend.
I’ll never forget my first day, as a Junior, at Madonna. Joey introduced himself and we got to talking about our birthdays. I told him my birthday was July 29 to which he replied, “SO IS MINE”!! Well, I didn’t believe him, so he took out his drivers lives and sure enough… we had the same birthday!! Joey was a teddy bear with a huge heart and a fantastic sense of humor. You will be missed Ton!! Much love and comfort to your family.
I remember teaching Joey at St. Paul. His smile was infectious and yes, he was funny! My deepest sympathy to his family. As he flies with the angels I pray that God gives the family the comfort and peace.
So sorry for your loss. You are all in prayers during this difficult time. May you find comfort knowing he is now at peace and no longer in pain.

I am so sorry for your loss. Joe was a wonderful person and will be missed. Rest in peace my friend.
So many fond memories of attending school with Ton at St. Paul’s and Madonna for 12 years. We played basketball together at St. Paul’s. We were on the same bowling team as kids, attended the same birthday parties, had great times at recess while in grade school. The laughs and good times are numerous. Visited him several times recently and was grateful to spend quality time with him. Ton had an exceptional sense of humor and very intelligent. He is now in Heaven with his parents with a smile on his face. Rest in Peace my FRIEND.
Joe was larger than life. An amazing athlete that never gave up. I don’t think Joe knew the word “quit”. Joe had a unique sense of humor that seemed to radiate no matter what was happening at the time. Joe , we will miss you -RIP
When you turn the corner to leave a classroom at Madonna, or hear laughter in the long hallways that echoed off the lockers…Joey was one of those few gifted people with his sense of humor and timing to tell a story or joke! His genuine passion for life showed in everything! Always available to lend a hand to anyone. Prayers to the Littleton family. ❤️
God Bless Joey

My condolences to The Littleton family. I was in the class of ‘84 with Joe and have many great memories of him over that four year period. He was the life of the party, kind, funny, and always upbeat. I haven’t seen Joe since high school, but I miss him already. RIP “Ton.”
My deepest condolences to Joey’s family. I’m so sorry that I couldn’t be there in person to say goodbye. He will be sorely missed. His big heart, hilarious sense of humor and love for his family & friends are the wonderful things that I will forever carry with me & fondly remember about Joey. I love you Joe! May you rest in the peace of our Lord!
I’m sorry for your loss. He was a good man. I used to cut his hair and we would talk about a lot of things. I never knew he was battling cancer. I assume he didn’t want anyone to know about that or even to feel sorry for him. That’s what kind of man he was. He will be missed by a lot of people including his family. I know what he went through because my mother had cancer. My sincerest apologies for not being there. I had no idea. Be well and take care of yourselves. Sincerely, Anthony Guglielmo
