joseph ewaskey
Joseph Ewaskey, 95, of Weirton, passed away Monday, January 05, 2009 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born July 19, 1913 in South Fayette Township, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and Charlotte Farkas Ewaskey. He was also preceded in death by his wife Audrey D. Dulaney Ewaskey whom he married on March 17, 1931 and who died on March 20, 2002, daughter Loretta Jean Powell on April 25, 2005, brothers William, George and Michael Ewaskey and sisters Theresa Larch and Elizabeth Ostrowski. Mr. Ewaskey worked for Weirton Steel Co from 1929 to 1941, and Larch Heating Company from 1940 until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Hancock County Sportsmen's Club and the N. R. A. Mr. Ewaskey is survived by his son Joseph F. Ewaskey and his wife Nancy of Jacksonville, FL; daughter Doloris Caldwell and her husband Charles of Pittsfield, MA; brothers Leonard Ewaskey of Long Beach, CA, Raymond Ewaskey of Weirton and Edward Ewaskey of Bridgeville, PA; sisters Dorothy Plance of Sharon, PA, Marcella Norris of Coraopolis, PA and Eva Murdacca of Carnegie, PA; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday, January 10, 2009 from 10 until the 11AM funeral services at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. The Captain Ed Long will officiate. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Weirton Salvation Army.
