Joseph James Mikula Sr.

Joseph James Mikula, Sr., 81 of 151 Webster Avenue, Weirton, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was a retired postal worker.
He was born March 19, 1920 in Dillonvale, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Kallay Mikula, and his wife Hilda Corsi Mikula in 1993.
He is survived by two sons: Joseph Jr. and his wife, Diana, Rick and his wife Judy, both of Weirton, a daughter: Susie Paolisso and her husband Paul of Ellicott City, MD. He has seven grandchildren: Katie, PJ, and David Paolisso, Kelli Cantor and her husband Chad, Tina, Christopher and Natalie Mikula and one brother: Emery Mikula of Weirton.
He was a member of the St. Joseph the worker Catholic Church. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He received a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of the VFW and the Knights of Columbus.
Friends may call on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. A prayer service will be held Thursday at 3:30PM in the funeral home. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be said Thursday at 7:00PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, burial will be at St. Paul’s cemetery with Military Graveside services.
