Joseph John (Risick) Reese, 88, of Weirton died Wednesday December 31, 2003, at the Trinity Health System West, Steubenville, OH. He was born September 21, 1915, in Lamberton, PA, the son of the late John and Susie Gibble Risick. Joseph was also preceded in death by his son, James Joseph Reese; an infant daughter, Mary Lou Reese; his brothers, Andrew (Risick) Reese, and Adam Popovich; his step brother, John Risick; his sisters, Katherine Norman, Mary Maranchine, and Anne Schultz; his step sister, Mary Fedovich Joseph retired from National Steel with over 42 years of service as a mechanic and millwright in Weirton Steel. He served his country during World War II in the 395th division of the US Army. Joseph was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, VFW 2716, American Legion Evertt Maki Post 10, WSX 25 Year Club, WSX Bowling and Softball League. He was also a termite coach and manager for many years. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie June (Mills) Reese, whom he married on August 8, 1944; his daughter, Jody Lynn Reese of Weirton; his two grandchildren, that he and his wife reared, Kimberly Ellek of Weirton, and Joseph M. Ellek and his wife Laura of Colliers, WV; his two great grandchildren, Morgan Elizabeth, and Zachary Joseph Ellek. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday at the Greco – Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday.
