Joseph Sedmack. Jr., of Weirton, passed away after a brief illness at The Weirton Medical Center on October 10, 2021; he was 76 years old.
Born on December 17, 1944, in Martins Ferry, OH, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha Bassa Sedmack, Sr.
Joseph was a member of the 1962 graduating class of Bridgeport High School and served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1962-1966.
He worked in the HVAC industry for many years in maintenance and repair.
Joseph enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He found further enjoyment in spending time with his friends on Lake Erie, fishing for walleye.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his former wife, Deborah Sedmack.
Remembering Joseph fondly is his fiance’ Catherine Mahan, whom he proposed to in 2017, son Joseph B. Sedmack, daughters Summer and Sheri Sedmack, grandchildren Logan, Dawson, Christian, Kelly, and Travis, and three great-grandchildren, Eva, Luca, and Leighla.
Visitation for Joseph will be held on Wednesday, October 13, from 5-7 PM, where funeral services will be held at 7 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton.
Pastor Marlin Hawley will Officiate.
Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 10 and the United States Navy.
