It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joshua Michael Allas on December 20, 2022, in Zebulon, North Carolina.
Josh was born on April 18, 1974, in Weirton, West Virginia to Michael Allas and Mary Catherine Olenick Allas.
A graduate of Steubenville Big Red, Josh had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family and friends. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and loved cheering on Ricky Rudd. In his free time, Josh could often be found watching his Dallas Cowboys.
Josh was a talented musician and could play any song on any instrument after hearing it just a few times. He had a true passion for music, especially the guitar, and loved sharing it with others. He played with Less Than Zero, Roadwork, Jumbo Frank, Thursday Night Jam Session and Loud and Proud to name a few. He cherished the times he played in a band with his brother, Matt, and his Uncle Joe.
Josh was a devoted Catholic and had a strong faith in Jesus. He was known for his kind and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was also an excellent cook and loved sharing his culinary creations with his family and friends.
Joshua was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Catherine, his brother, Matthew Allas; maternal grandparents, Joseph, and Barbara Herceg Olenick; paternal grandparents, Harry James Allas and Margaret Allas Oblock; aunts, Vivian (Martin) Kosarick and Dolly (Michael) Whitco; and uncle, Michael Herceg.
Joshua will be remembered with love by his daughter, Sadie Allas and her husband, Israel Zuniga; his stepmother, Sheila Allas; his brother, Zachary Allas, his former girlfriend, Missi Schafer and her children, Cody, Jade, Celia, and Alon; step-grandmother, Marilyn Skidmore, uncle, Joseph (Frances) Olenick; aunts, Marjorie (Jack) Copenhaver, and Patty (Mickey) Morris; and many cousins.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His family is planning a memorial in the Spring of 2023.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.

Josh, I was so sad to learn that you have left us, and I pray that Jesus will keep you close with him until the day we meet again.

We were just laughing last week about stealing each other’s crayons in first grade and reminiscing of Colliers Elementary times… like we said, it was so easy then. Your passing breaks my heart and was hard to hear… I can only hope that you and your brother are making beautiful music again… RIP my friend
Please let us know when and where his service will take place
