Judith “Jackie” Rowles of Weirton passed away peacefully, with her daughter by her side, after a prolonged illness at the Weirton Geriatric Center on Friday, December 16, 2022. She was 73 years old.
She was born in Steubenville, OH, on October 17, 1949, one of three children born to John Edward and Wanda Rosa Lee Richter Buchanan.
Jackie was Presbyterian by faith and a graduate of Follansbee High School. She and her late husband “Skip” were owner/operators of the Stag and Doe Club for many years.
She was a dedicated member and officer of the Weirton Elks Lodge #1801 and was also a member of the Weirton Loyal Order of the Moose #688.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many nurses and aides that cared for her during her time at the Weirton Geriatric Center. They were appreciative of the outpouring of love and support she was given while she was there.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Donald “Skip“ Rowles, daughter Shannon Jewell, and brother John E.”Bucky” Buchanan, Jr.
Left to cherish Jackie’s memory with love and admiration are her daughter Tracy (Eric) Rice of Weirton, sister Vivian”Vicki” Lee (Michael) Mitchell of Wellsburg, grandchildren Devon Rice (Sarah Schell), DeJae Jewell (Jordan Thompson) and Taylor Jewell, great-grandchildren Anna, Jaedan, Jordan and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jackie’s wish for cremation has been honored. No services have been scheduled as the family had recently gathered and celebrated her 73rd birthday with a living wake.
