In loving memory of a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, we mourn the passing of Ms. Judy Carol Burdine, who departed from this earthly realm on April 8, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on August 25, 1949, in Weirton, WV, Judy was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Zina (Kester) Mossor. She was also preceded in death by her brother William and sisters Linda and Rosie. Judy embodied grace, kindness, and unwavering faith throughout her journey.
She will forever be treasured by her beloved sons, Michael, Joseph (Tammy), and Samuel (Tamika), her brother Lawrence, and sisters-in-law Dianne and Rita. Her beautiful spirit will also live on through her adored grandchildren: Dashawn, Amya, Michael, Alyssa, Isaac, and Ella. She will be fondly remembered and missed by a host of friends at the Freedom Place in Weirton.
Judy’s life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to family and faith. A woman of the Christian belief, she walked each day in reverent humility and praised the glory of her Lord. Judy found solace in the scriptures, with her Bible serving as a beacon of hope and guidance in her life.
Judy found fulfillment in her roles as a mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the focal point of her existence, and she expressed her love through the nurturing care she provided them. Her love extended beyond kin, as Judy was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society, finding joy and camaraderie in its sisterhood.
In her quieter moments, Judy found solace in the written word. An avid reader and poet, she poured her heart into every verse, creating a legacy of beauty and emotion that will endure for generations. Her love for literature was matched only by her love for her family, for whom she penned countless verses of love and devotion.
As we celebrate Judy’s life, let us remember her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and her boundless love. May her memory be a blessing, and may her soul find eternal peace in the arms of her Savior.
In honoring Judy’s wishes, no services will be scheduled.
Cremation will take place at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home’s onsite crematory at 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.

We are so sorry to hear about your mom, Judy. I have been deeply moved by the countless stories that you shared about her, especially her love for the Lord and bringing joy and warmth to those around her. I feel fortunate to have had the chance to hear the funny stories you shared about her as well – it is evident she was loved by everyone she came in contact with! I especially loved the fact she had a remarkable collection of hats which always brought back memories of my mom.
It’s clear that Judy’s influence has had a profound impact on you. The kind, caring, and compassionate person you are today is a testament to the values she instilled in you as her son. She must have been incredibly proud of the person you’ve become.
While words may offer little comfort in moments like these, please know that our thoughts are with you & your family.
Joey, Jamie and Mike, I am truly sorry to hear about your Mom. She was my Mom’s best friend and now they are in Heaven together laughing, and doing all of the things that life long friends do!! She will always have a special place in my heart with so many memories that I couldn’t even begin to tell them all. I loved her very much, as did my entire family! I have been and will continue to be praying for you all! I love you all.
