Justine (Giusta) Domenica DiBartolomeo, 97, of Weirton, died Tuesday, January 15, 2002, at the Weirton Medical Center, after a brief illness. She was born April 17, 1904, in Goriano Valli, in the province of Aguila, Italy, a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Anna Giannageli DiBartolomeo. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elvira DiBartolomeo and Marietta Guidone; two brothers, Anthony M. and Carlo DiBartolomeo, (surviving spouses Ella and Giovanna DiBartolomeo, respectively). Justine and her sister Elvira emigrated from Italy in 1956, joining other family members in the United States. Once in Weirton, they continued the successful dressmaking business they had established in Rome. Throughout her long life, Justine was an active participant in family and community events, and enjoyed baking her special sponge cakes for every occasion. She is survived by two brothers: Osvaldo and his wife Gina of Weirton, and Nino and his wife Laura of Rome, Italy, neices and nephews: Anthony and Deanna DiBartolomeo of Morgantown, WV, Garen and Janice DiBartolomeo, Joseph and Maria DiBartolomeo, Carlo and Gretchen DiBartolomeo, all of Weirton, Claudio and Sheila DiBartolomeo of Hilton Head, SC, Guido and Linda DiBartolomeo of Germantown, MD, Annalia and Charles Bolyard of Morgantown, WV, Egidio Guidone, Maurizio DiBartolomeo, Gracia DiBartolomeo, all of Rome, Italy, and Anna DiGuilio of Manhattan, NY, and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Friday at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. A prayer service will be held 3:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
