Kong “Kayla” Runkel passed away on Saturday June 3, 2023 at Wyngate Senior Living Community. Kayla was born on September 1, 1949 in Bangkok, Thailand and moved to the US at the age of 17.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 24 years, Robert “Bob” Runkel and step children, Allison (Barie) Quering of Atlasburg, PA and David (Roshelle) Runkel of Alpharetta, Ga, six grandchildren, Evan Quering, Lacy Quering, Madison Runkel, Amanda Runkel, Alexis Schick and Heather Bennett (Cameron) and three great grandchildren, Rosie, Graham and Meredith Bennett.

Kayla enjoyed gardening, cooking and entertaining family and friends and will be deeply missed.

In accordance with her wishes, Kayla will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home crematory. No public visitation or funeral services will be held. The family would like to thank Wyngate, Valley Hospice and Suzie Pietranton for the compassion that they showed Kayla during her illness.
