Larry Lee Lahita

Larry Lee Lahita, 62, of Weirton died suddenly Monday October 31, 2011 at his home.
Born on October 4, 1949, in Steubenville, OH, Larry was the son of the late William and Beatrice Kendo Lahita.
After graduating high school, Larry enlisted in the US Army, and served in the Vietnam War. He retired in February as a side trimmer in the tin mill from Weirton Steel after 30 plus years of service.
An avid Cleveland Browns fan, Larry was a member of the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club, the VFW 2716 and an executive officer of the American Legion Post 10.
Larry is survived by his son, Philip Lahita of Pittsburgh, PA; his daughter, Rachel (Kurtis) Shank of Beaver Falls, PA; his two sisters, Debbie Galiano of Wellsburg, WV and Sandy (Lou) Mayo of Raliegh, NC; a niece and two nephews.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday.
Rev. Larry Barkley will preside.

Dear Lahita Family, There were a few things I will always remember about Larry, his love for the West Virginia Mountaineers, The Browns, Sharing time with friends and most of all his children. Whenever they needed him, he never hesitated to be there for them. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow.

I met Larry at GOLDs bar while i tended there….I honestly can say he was an awesome, fun loving guy who loved his bud light, cleveland browns and telling stories!! A hard working man who loved his kids…has left us to soon!! I will truly miss him! my prayers and thoughts are with the Lahita family in this time!!! Sorry for your loss!!
I first met Larry at Gold’s. He was one of the first people to make me feel welcome. He was a good man and a great friend. Gold’s won’t be the same without him. He will be missed very much!!
I feel so awful that I could not be there to show my respect and deep admiration for Larry.. We shared many good times at the Legion and Golds Club. He was quick with a joke and a nice compliment and always brought a smile to my face.. I will miss my “dear” friend terribly … May he rest in eternal peace…..
