Lawrence Kelley, 74, of Weirton died Tuesday December 9, 2008, after a battle with cancer, at the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH. Lawrence was born in Steubenville, OH on November 3, 1934 to Harry Morris and Ellen Mae Kelley Koper. His step father was Carl Koper. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Little. Lawrence was a self employed Painter. He painted many years in the Tri State Area and also in the Maryland Area with his son Pat. He served in the 101 Airborne Division of the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a Christian. He is survived by his two sons, Larry Kelley of New Manchester, WV and Patrick Kelley of Weirton, WV; his daughter, Barbara Sadler with whom he recently resided ; his brother, Tom and Judy Koper;of Weirton his sister, Kathryn Schweitzer of Indiana; his five grandchildren, Shaun Kelley, Blaine Matthew Sadler, Brianna Sadler, Brendon Sadler, and Erin Kelley; his great grandson, Aiden Kelley. Visitation will be 11 AM until time of memorial services at 12 noon Thursday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton. Jim Smith Evangelist will preside. THe military Honor Guard from the American Legion Post 10 and the Weirton Honor Guard will play taps and have the 21 Gun Salute immediately following the service at the funeral home. At Mr. Kelly's request his body was cremated

  8. Barb, Larry and Patrick. Your father was a great man. He was always kind to us and took us places. He knew we didn’t have a car, but never denied us a chance to go when he went. I will always remeber the first drive in. Good bad and the ugly. His smile and the way he carried himself. He will always have my respect and memories he has provided. GOD BLESS you and your family.
