
Linda Sue Hurst

Linda Sue Hurst, 63, of Wintersville formerly of Weirton passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at Carriage Inn in Steubenville, Ohio. Born in Steubenville on April 30, 1950 she was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Irean Watson Martin. She was also preceded in death by her son George A. Hurst, three sisters Charlene, Beverly Jean and Waveline Kaye Martin and half-brothers Kenneth and Gary Martin.
Linda was a graduate of Follansbee High School and was the store manager for the former Dairy Queen on Main Street and Penco Road in Weirton where she was affectionately known as the "DQ Lady". She also enjoyed cooking, making candy and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son Michael M. Hurst and companion Nicole Yoho of Weirton, two sisters Dianne Martin of Wintersville and Barbara Carroll of Weirton; a brother Randy Martin of Wintersville; four grandchildren George C., Elijah M., Helena Rose and Christian Hurst; her son George's companion Lacey Cassella of Weirton and her dog Toby too.
Visitation will be Monday from 2-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 238 Hurricane, WV 25526.
Michael – we so much love your family – but we have a special place for Linda Sue in our hearts. We will always remember how much she smiled and was always kind to everyone. I’m so very sorry to hear about Linda and George. This is the toughest thing you have to deal with. You are going to hurt for a long time but remember the good times and keep those memories in your heart. It doesn’t make it any easier but you will find times that you can laugh. Their love will always be with you!

Michael, Randy, Dianne and family I am so sorry for your loss. I will always be grateful for Linda’s sense of humor, it is the only thing that saved George and Rich from being grounded FOREVER when they were young. Rich used to call Linda his nice mother.
