Louis Alexander Fodor

Louis A. Fodor 79 of Weirton died Friday September 21, 2001 at his residence.
He was born on October 23, 1921 in Gyulahaza, Szabolcs County in northeast Hungary, the son of the late Louis Fodor, who died on June 30, 1955 and Helen Biro’ Fodor, who died on December 12, 1971.
His son, Commander Louis Charles Fodor, a brother Michael Louis Fodor and two sisters, Helen Fodor Varga Barosci and Barbara Fodor Balogh also preceded him in death.
Louis was a retired oilman for Weirton Steel where he worked for 38 years. He was the Vice- Chairman of the Board of the William Penn Fraternal Association, where he served as branch manager of Ohio and West Virginia. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Weirton, Weirton Steel 25 Year Club, Masonic Lodge 171, Osiris Shrine, Hungarian Culture Club, VFW 2716, American Legion Post 10, WW II Last Mans Club.
He served his country in the US Army 24th Infantry Division and was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
His wife, Ethel Firman Fodor, whom he married on May 21, 1946 and his daughter Charlene Mae and her husband Rick Kinder of McDonald, PA and his two grandchildren Bradd Fodor of Oak Harbor, WA and Kelly Reis of Oregon, survive.
Visitation will be Sunday 12 – 3 PM and 7-9 PM at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday 12 Noon until time of Service at 1 PM. Rev. Dr. Frank L. Shaffer, Jr. will officiate.
Interment will be at Highland Hill Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard, the VFW 2716 Firing Squad and the Tri State Marine Corp.
