lubin alimario

In loving memory of Lubin C. Alimario, MD, a life well-lived and deeply cherished, we share the story of a man whose journey was marked by love, service, and caring for others.

Dr. Alimario, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2024 surrounded by family at his son’s home in Wenonah, NJ.

Born in San Pablo City, Philippines, to Domingo and Consorcia (Cabrera) Alimario, Lubin was one of eight siblings. From humble beginnings, he set out on a path that would take him across the globe, touching countless lives along the way. A proud graduate of San Pablo City College and Manila Central University, he pursued his passion for medicine, eventually becoming an anesthesiologist. His career brought him to the United States in the early 1970s, where he began at Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia before finding a long-term home at Weirton Medical Center.

Dr. Alimario dedicated his life to the practice of medicine, serving his patients and the medical community with compassion, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. His respect and kindness were extended to all—doctors, nurses, nurse aides, custodians, and patients alike.

Dr. Alimario was more than a physician; he was a pillar of the community. As President of the Rotary Club and leader of the Tri-State Filipino/American Association, he worked tirelessly to bring people together. His commitment to service extended beyond borders, participating in medical missions that provided care to those in need.

Despite his professional accomplishments, Lubin’s heart was firmly rooted in his family and hobbies. A man of many passions, he was an enthusiastic golfer, tennis player, traveler, bowler, and dancer. In retirement, he and his beloved wife of 60 years, Teresita, embraced life fully. From Phoenix to Las Vegas, they created a vibrant chapter filled with cherished moments—exploring new destinations, sharing meals at Chinese buffets, and enjoying strawberry ice cream with family and friends.

Lubin’s journey came full circle, returning to the area where his American dream began. Though his physical presence has left us, his spirit remains a guiding light. A compassionate and generous soul, he leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.

He nourished his faith at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church.

He will be remembered with love and admiration by his wife, Teresita, and their children: Alain (Cynthia) Alimario, Vanessa Meredith, and Terence (Erica) Alimario. He was a proud Lolo to Alan (Katie) Alimario, Andrea Alimario, Malachi and Sam Meredith, and Miles and Jackson Alimario. Among his siblings, he is survived by his sisters Aleli, Aden, and Ilona, and predeceased by Efren, Mervin, Violeta, and Beethoven.

Friends and family will gather at Saint Joseph the Worker Church from 10:30 until the 11 AM Memorial Mass on January 4, 2025.

His cremated remains will be laid to rest in Manila, Philippines at a later date.

To honor his memory, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD 21741. https://give.michaeljfox.org
