luigi terramani

Mr. Luigi Gino Terramani of Weirton passed away on December 25, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital in Weirton. He was seventy-seven years old.

Luigi was born on July 13, 1946, in the city of Cerignola Foggia, in the Puglia region of Italy. He was one of Seven children born to the late Gaspare and Zenina Morgani Terramani.

Luigi was educated in Italy and arrived in the United States in 1972. He was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church and retired from Barkhurst Construction as an accomplished machinist and craftsman. His love for woodworking gave him many years of joy and satisfaction, traveling to shows, and selling his creations to the many individuals who admired his work. But his favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. He would drop everything to do whatever they wanted whenever they wanted no matter what it was.

In addition to his parents, Luigi was preceded in death by his wife Rosaria, sadly passing on October 7, 2011. He was also preceded by his brother Otello (Evangeline) Teramana, in the US. Sisters Ida (Enzo) Diluca, Camilla (Carlo) Carnicella, Velia (Biaggio) Cannone, Maria (Benito) Gorga, all of Italy.

Heartbroken over the loss of Luigi, he is survived by his daughter Regina (Jason) Baker of Weirton, grandchildren Alauna and Brody Baker, brother Sergio (Angela) Terramani in Italy, and many nieces and nephews in Italy and the US.

Friends can visit Luigi’s family on Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219, Main Street, Weirton, WV. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 229 California Ave. Weirton.

Entombment will follow at Saint Paul’s Cemetery.

Pastor Very Rev. Dennis R. Schuelkens, Jr., VE will preside.

He was an all-around good man with an incredibly kind heart. My memories with him are so many – from our childhood, St. Joe’s days, to the daily Gio’s Restaurant conversations with my mom, to our most recent friendly meetings. May he rest in eternal peace and joy with your dear mom and all those who were eagerly waiting to see him again.
