Lyndall D. Jenkins
April 2, 1937 ~ April 4, 2011
Devoted husband and father, Lyndall D. Jenkins, 74, of Weirton, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 in the Life Line Hospital, Wintersville, OH. Born April 2, 1937 in Big Isaac, WV, he was a son of the late Garnet F. and Roxie Richards Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by his son Charles Eugene Long and brother Richard Jenkins.
Until his retirement, Mr. Jenkins served as a truck driver for Weir-Cove Moving and Storage. He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church where he served as elder and deacon and the American Legion Post 10. He always enjoyed the fellowship of church members and in his spare time, he loved to go camping with his family.
Lyndall is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Long Jenkins; sons Chester Long and his wife Sheila and Brian Jenkins and his wife Diane all of Weirton; daughters Mary Lou Gaston of Weirton, Barbara Bird and her husband Rusty of Florida, Laura Ann Long and her companion Bob Sutton of Weirton and Shellie Fornwalt also of Weirton; brother Wallace Jenkins of California; sister Sheila Barnes of New York; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be celebrated 11am Friday. The Reverend Peter Leonovich will officiate. Interment will be in the New Cumberland Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad.

Mary Ellen and family, Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Words cannot express the feelings in my heart … we will all miss Lyndall. We just need to remember that he has finished his course and has passed off the torch to us for our portion of the course … we need to continue running the race and showing God’s Love to everyone around us. We can and will see Lyndall again is God’s glorious heaven!
Know that you are in our hearts and prayers at this difficult time. Lyndall was a great guy to be around and he will be missed, but he has gone to a better place. We will see him again.
