Marfolia Alatis

Marfolia (Psaros) Alatis, 72, of Wetzel Street, Weirton, died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Alatis was born on February 3, 1930 in Weirton, daughter of the late Emanuel Psaros and Catherine Kladakis Psaros. She was also preceded in death by her sister Mary Balalis.
Marfolia was a sales clerk for nine years at the Stone & Thomas in Weirton. She also was a homemaker who was very active in her church, the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, and in numerous civic organizations: All Saints Senior Citizens Club, Past President of the Daughters of Penelope, and the Eastern Star. Kiwanis was another important organization for Mrs. Alatis. She attended numerous district and national Kiwanis conventions.
Marfolia is survived by her husband John Alatis. They were married for 52 years and have five children: two sons, Stathis Alatis and his wife Kathy, and Manuel Alatis and his wife Julie, all of Weirton; three daughters, Valerie Fellows and her husband Gary of Brilliant, OH, Kathy Evans and her husband Rich of North Royalton, OH, and Toni Alatis of Fort Worth, TX; and ten grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, George and John Psaros of Michigan.
Visitation will be held from 2-9 PM Friday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, where a Trisagion service will be held at 8:30 PM.
Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 12 Noon Saturday at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 3528 West Street Weirton.
Her burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Weirton.
