Margaret Ann Patton

Margaret Ann (Shernit) Patton, of Weirton went to be with her Lord on Friday March 18, 2016. She passed away after a brief illness at the Weirton Medical Center . Born January 12, 1938, in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late George and Margaret (Brondos) Shernit. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Thomas and John G. Shernit; sister in laws, Nancy Patton and Sharon Shernit. Margaret Ann retired after 31 years of service at Weirton and National Steel. After her retirement she volunteered at Weirton Medical Center, where she took care of the Gift Shop and was in charge of the volunteens who volunteered in the Gift Shop. She was an active member of the Saint Mark's Lutheran Church, where she was an officer and a member of the Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club and a 20 Year Member of the Lions Club. Margaret Ann is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, John C. Patton of Weirton; a sister, Donna Jean (John) Jackson; a nephew and two great nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11 AM Wednesday, at Saint Mark's Lutheran Church 133 Lovers Lane in Steubenville, OH Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Saint Mark's Lutheran Church, 133 Lovers Lane, Steubenville, OH 43952.
