Margaret Charlotte “Charlie” Klee, 87, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, surrounded by her loving family.

Born August 4, 1937, in Cecil, PA, she was the 8th of 11 children born to the late Joseph and Mary Olive Sims Fagan. Fierce, feisty, and intensely devoted to her family, Charlie lived a life full of unwavering love, resilience, kindness, and wisdom. She regaled in stories of her family.

A graduate of Saint Luke’s High School, Class of 1956. While working as a phlebotomist, Charlie met the love of her life, Israel “Ed” Klee, during Christmas of 1957. They were married on August 12, 1961, beginning a beautiful life together that spanned more than six decades.

Charlie and Ed moved frequently along the East Coast due to Ed’s career with Thrift Drug Store before settling in Weirton, WV, where they raised their family. For 17 years, they enjoyed wintering in Florida, creating cherished memories.

Charlie was a devout Catholic who dedicated her life to her faith and her family. She was a devoted mother to her children, a beloved “Mum Mum” to twelve grandchildren, and a great-grandmother to her two great-grandsons. Her home was immaculate, her cooking unmatched, and her love of music and reading reflected her vibrant spirit. Known for her passion of shopping and impeccable taste. Because of her fierce loyalty, dedication, and determination, Charlie brought warmth and joy to every holiday season.

She was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Church and member of the Parish Council, Christian Mothers, and Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. She volunteered as Weirton Madonna’s librarian for several years and cooked for Madonna sports’ teams.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son Patrick; and seven of her siblings, Joseph, Patrick, and Michael Fagan, Helen Henney, Geraldine O’Brien, Anne Westhoven, and Eugenia Bogats.

Charlie will be remembered with love and admiration by her husband of 63 years, Israel “Ed” Klee; her children, Jacquelyn Kotten (Joseph), I. Ed “Moose” Klee, Jr. (Mary Catherine), Michele “Doo” Tost (Joseph), John Klee, and Marylyn Jenkins (Douglas); her cherished grandchildren, Alexandria (Jack), Maggi, Joshua (Emily), Charlie, Gaby (Donnie), Matthew, Brennen, Gabriel, Isabella, Thomas, Ethan, and Fagan; two great-grandsons, August and Roman; and her daughter-in-law, Lexie Rausch (Jason); her sisters, Kathleen Craft, Rosemarie Barthen, Joann Pajak, and sister-in-law, Rosemarie Duran.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church in Weirton.

She will be laid to rest at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray, Pa.

Memorial donations can be made to Saint Joseph the Worker Church, Weirton Madonna High School, or Weirton Geriatric Center Resident’s Council in memory of Charlie Klee.
