margaret olexick
Margaret Marie "Cookie" Olexick, 83, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 in the Weirton Medical Center. Born July 28, 1928 in Weirton, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Anna Duda Kucan. She was also preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Olexick on August 19, 1995, brother John Kucan and nephew Rickey John Kucan. Mrs. Olexick was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the V.F.W. 2716 Women's Auxiliary. She was a former pro-bowler, having worked many years at the Steel Valley Bowling Lanes in Steubenville, OH. She was an inductee in the Pro-Bowler Hall of Fame in Steubenville and belonged to many valley bowling leagues as well as a Pittsburgh bowling league. She loved to play bingo and go golfing with her family and friends. Margaret is survived by her son Mark E. "Mouse" Olexick and his wife Donna; brother, George Kucan and his wife Virginia all of Weirton and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Father Larry Dorsch officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
