Maria Drennan, 57, of Weirton, WV, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018, surrounded by loved ones, at Magee-Women’s Hospital of UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA. Born January 20, 1960 in Calabria, Italy, she was a daughter of Joe and Candida “Candy” Santoro Caruso. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Gina and Lena Caruso. Maria’s life revolved around being a wife, mother and mimi. Her grandchildren were her world and she volunteered for anything her grandkids were involved in. She was a catholic by faith and a member of the Weirton Moose Lodge 688. Maria was loved by many and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband Rick Drennan, whom she married on December 27, 1984; daughters Melissa Thomas (Chris) of Weirton and Susan Drennan of New Hampshire, brother Frank Caruso (Lisa) of Wellsburg, WV; sisters Mena Johnson (Phil) of Colliers, WV, and Joann Ortitay (John) of Avella, PA.; grandchildren Trent Ferrelli, Sara Hinman, Andrew and Greyson Thomas and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am.   7. I first Met Maria in grade school at Jefferson . She was so much fun and was kind to everyone. She truely had a Beautiful Soul. My thoughts and prayers to her entire family. She will be missed by many. I feel so bad for her family, I wish there was something I could say or do to ease the pain in all your hearts.
