Our thoughts and prayers are sent your way. May the memories of your Mother be pleasant and perhaps be a comfort to you in this sad time of your life’s journey.
You have our sincere sympathy. Marigo taught 3 of our 4 daughters at Millsop School. She was a wonderful teacher and a good influence on the children that went through her classroom. We are sure she made a difference to many. She was a lovely woman.
Your mother was my 3rd grade teacher at Millsop School and I will never forget her. She introduced us to turkish coffee and she dressed so exquisitely that there were days my classmates and I just couldn’t take our eyes off of her. She made learning fun and she was always kind and nurturing – just what third graders needed. I hope that you are surrounded by the love she had for you and the memories you made together. God Bless You – we will see her again.
George, Sending condolances and heartfelt sympathy at the passing of your mom. How quickly the years have passed since those ‘glory’ days of our youth. Having experienced much of what you have been enduring for some time now, I can recognize this moment of losing your mom with heartfelt identity and compassion. Live well in her memory and God bless. To the family of Marigo Menas, we sincerely send our sympathy. She will always be remembered for her loving, kind, and delightful way she taught the children of Brooke County. She always made learning fun, especially with her puppets. I witnessed the excitement she generated in children when she walked through the door. Dear family and friends of Ms. Menas, It was my pleasure to take care of Mary while she was at Weirton Medical Center. She was a wonderful woman, full of life and of good memories. I’ll never forget how delighted she was when I told her if I were not a nurse, I would have been an English teacher. I offer my sincerest condolences.
Your mother Marigo will always be remembered by us as the most loving woman we’ve ever known. Mrs. Menas was an outstanding teacher who loved her students. I remember her classroom from the 1960’s: writing Haikus and poetry, French lessons, the Christmas workshops to make homemade gifts for our parents and other family members; she always made learning and projects fun, and she always respected her students. Mrs. Menas would have us say the Lord’s prayer together, even after it was outlawed; as an adult, I realized that she answered to a Higher Authority. In recent years, the neighborhood ladies enjoyed ‘evening teas’ in her home. We will surely miss her presence.
Dear George and Angela,It was so good to see you today. May God remember the soul of your respected mother, who passed to her etrnal rest.May she be under thy divine wings, among the Holy and pure who shine bright as the sky, may her placeof rest be in paradise.Even as the Sun goest down to the end ofthe light of day. It’s rising on the a new horizon somewhwre far away. Steve Mindzak( Friendly Cleaners)
Your mother brought the “world” into her classroom.Whenever I hear the French National Anthem, I think of Mrs. Menas and the many things learned from this extraordinary woman!
I am saddened to read of Mrs. Menas’ passing. She was a great teacher and inspired me to want to learn. I loved the french lessons and I walked home with her many days from Millsop School. She made a lasting impression on her many students. Sincere condolences to her family. With fond memories, Maureen Barker
I will always remember your mother as one of my favorite teachers. She made learning fun and introduced us to different countries & their cultures. She always had a smile and it was very apparent she loved teaching. My heartfelt condolences to you.
Angela and Ted, I’m so sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. She taught me in both 4th and 5th grades at Millsop and I remember so, so many things about her! She always talked about both of you so fondly. She taught us French, and I went on to college and started as a French major (before discovering that wasn’t very practical for getting a job) but always loved the language because of her. She always used to dress so nicely and was a great role model for young girls. And I also remember her once telling me that “blue was my color” from a school picture at an age when I sure didn’t feel very pretty – that awkward age. To this day, when I wear that shade of blue, I think of her! She had a big influence on my life and, I’m sure, on many other people’s. I’m sorry for your loss and know you have a lot of great memories of her, too.
she was one of the most colorfull teachers that gave me a great love for travel.she will be missed
When I heard of your mom’s passing I called my brother and sisters. Each of them remarked what a wonderful teacher and friend she was to us throughout our lives. She left a lasting impression because she brought so much fun and joy to her classroom. We are all the better for having a teacher in our lives who cared so much about each and everyone. She will be in our hearts for a long time.
