marshall lyons

Marshall Ray Lyons of Weirton passed away at the Weirton Medical Center after a brief illness on Monday, November 13. He was 70 years old.

Ray was born in Steubenville on March 7, 1953, a son to Alex and Hilda Freeman Lyons.

He served his country proudly in the United States Army and retired from Krogers in Weirton as a produce clerk.

Ray enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, the Cleveland Browns and Weir High Football, but if you knew Ray, you knew he enjoyed being in the presence of his friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory with much love are his wife Vivian (Spencer) Lyons, son Gerard (Frances) Spencer all of Weirton, daughters Reana (Antonio) Powers of Texas, RaLysha Hampson of Weirton, brothers Randy Freeman, Alex Lyons, Jr., and Corey Lyons, all of Steubenville, and sister Alexia Lyons of Texas, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with Ray’s family on Monday, November 20, from 3 pm until the time of the 5 pm service at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV.
