Mary Ann Frazee
February 24, 1932 ~ December 21, 2004
Mary Ann Frazee, was born on February 24, 1932, in Weirton, WV to Alexander and Emma Boniti Collo.
She grew up in Weirton with two brothers and four sisters. Mary graduated from Weir High School in 1950, where she was a stand out in basketball and volleyball. After high school Mary was employed as a floor lady in the tin mill of Weirton Steel, and this is where she eventually met her husband Gene.
On October 27, 1956, she married Clarence Eugene “Gene” Frazee. On Dec 22, 1959, Gene and Mary were blessed with their first child, Leslie, and three years later their son, Gary, was born on May 4, 1962.
Gene continued to work at Weirton Steel and Mary was employed at Anile Pharmacy, where she worked for 30 years. Mary loved her children and enjoyed attending their sporting events and activities. She and her husband also enjoyed attending the Pittsburgh Steelers Games with their friends. They are members of the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, where Mary was a member of the Christian Mothers, Fun Seekers, Sons of Italy, Garibaldi Lodge, the Family Card Club and the Good Friends Card Club.
On December 21, 2004, Mary was surrounded by her family at her home when she passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Emma; her sisters, Verna and Helen Collo; and her brother, Frank Collo.
Mary is survived by her husband, Gene; her son, Gary of Orlando, FL; her daughter, Leslie and her husband Alex Taflan III, of Myrtle Beach SC; her beautiful grandchildren whom she adored, Danielle Taflan, Alex Taflan IV, and Anthony Frazee; her brother, Albert Collo; her two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Regina) Truax, and Mrs. John (Janet) Backel, all of Weirton; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 3-9 PM Thursday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Friday at the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church Weirton.
Entombment will follow at the Saint Paul Cemetery Mausoleum.
