mary tucker

Mary Ann Tucker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

Born on September 3, 1955, in Steubenville, she was the daughter of Walter and Ann (Krynicki) Mankowski and was the cherished sister of three siblings.

After graduating from Weir High School in 1973, Mary Ann held various jobs throughout her life before spending many years as a receptionist for Kathleen and Paul’s Portrait Gallery.

Mary Ann’s unwavering faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of her life. Together with her loving husband, Jim (J.O.), she nurtured this faith within her family and the New Cumberland Church of the Nazarene community, where they formed lasting connections with others.

Known for her warm and kind nature, Mary Ann never met a stranger. Her ability to connect with people through conversation was a testament to her generous heart.

Her greatest joy came from being “Babczi” to her seven grandchildren, attending their events and creating cherished memories filled with laughter and love.

She was a devoted Pittsburgh Penguins fan and held a special place in her heart for her Polish heritage.

She loved all things purple. Mary Ann had a great love for music, particularly Engelbert Humperdinck, Neil Diamond, and the Oldies. She created many special memories with her family thanks to her enthusiastic love of board and card games, which always generated much fun and laughter.

Mary Ann’s joyful personality also extended to her grand-dog, Parker, who brought her much happiness.

Her adventurous spirit led her to enjoy memorable cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean as well as numerous trips to Sugarcreek with her family, experiences she treasured and often recounted fondly with laughter.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ann Mankowski.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of forty-nine years, Jim (J.O.) Tucker, whom she married on September 3, 1976, ironically on the same day as her birthday, so he would be sure not to forget it. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Tiffany (Joshua) Devore of East Liverpool and Jamie (Jim) Stierwalt of Chester; grandchildren Landon, Airiana, and Braedon Landfried and Caleb, Logan, Kaitlyn, and Alexa Devore; great-grandchildren Grayson Lewis and Braxton Landfried; brother Raymond Mankowski; sisters Christine (Michael Gaudio) Mankowski and Kathleen (Paul) Cowey; and brother-in-law Tim (Donna) Tucker.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton.

Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 am at New Cumberland Church of the Nazarene, 49 Nazarene Lane, New Cumberland, WV. 26047.

Reverend Jeff Berry will officiate.

Interment will immediately follow in Locust Hill Cemetery.
