Mary (Hirko) Lucas

Mary (Hirko) Lucas, 95, a longtime Yonkers, New York resident, died Sunday, May 28, 2006. Mary was born August 11, 1910 in Ruska, Nova Ves, Slovakia to George and Barbara Hirko. She was employed at the Alexander Smith Carpet Shop, Geigy Chemical Company and the Professional Hospital in Yonkers as a Practical Nurse. She was a parishioner of St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church in Yonkers. Beloved wife of the late Michael Lucas, devoted mother of Reverend Edward Lucas, Pastor of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Weirton and St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Avella, PA and Frank Lucas and his wife Debra of Yonkers, New York and cherished grandmother of Catherine Lucas of San Diego, CA and Edward Lucas of Burlington, VA. Visiting hours will be Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Duchynski-Cherko Funeral Home in Yonkers from 7-9PM. Parastas at 8PM. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by her son, Father Edward, on Friday, June 2 at St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, 768 North Street, White Plains, New York at 10:30AM.
