Mary J. Vargo

Mary J. Vargo, 84, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Brightwood Nursing Center in Follansbee, WV. Born June 25, 1925 in Follansbee, she was a daughter of the late Camillo and Josephine Giorgini D'Eugenio. She was also preceded in death by her husbands Charles Allen, and George Vargo, son John Grishkevich and brothers Al D'Eugenio and Domenic "Babe" D'Eugenio. Mary, a fun loving mother and grandmother, who could be described as a character is survived by her sons Walter Grishkevich and his wife Tonie of Follansbee and Chuck Allen and his wife Adrian of Houston, TX; daughters Jackie Stanley of Michigan, Janie Brothers of Colorado Springs, CO and Betty Hawkins and her husband Jim of Dallas, TX; step-children George Vargo Georgette Travaglino all of Weirton and Kathy Galla of New Cumberland; brother William DiGennaro; sisters Dora Notni and her husband Frank and Betty Bailey and her husband Jim all of Follansbee; numerous grandchildren and numerous great-granchildren and great great grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 2-6PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held 10AM until time of services at 12 Noon Sunday at the funeral home. Minister Larry Barkley will preside. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
